June was a busy month creating wood work for two galleries/gift shops and the wood work sale for the Sooke Philharmonic Garden Tour. PhoebeWood items were available for purchase by the orchard apple shack at the Sunriver Community Gardens, while Sooke’s Harmony players entertained the garden visitors by the orchard’s pond garden.
I had a presence at the Sooke Arts Council’s June ELECTIC art show at the South Shore Gallery where I sold four pieces. I’m sorry I didn’t take any photos! My work has also been showcased out at STOKED pizzeria, near French Beach, and I submitted a few pieces to Sooke’s 2019 Fine Art Show. Windswept was accepted!
Throughout July, I have been busy in the carving shed using the band saw and sanders to make up yew wood fish platters, maple and arbutus cutting boards, spoons and other small gifts.
Foggy Mountain Forge has a number of my cutting boards where we have collaborated on decorative wood art cutting boards with forged metal handles. Their gift shop and the Pizzeria will be selling these boards throughout the summer.
Throughout the Sooke Fine Arts Show, located at the SEAPARC facility on Phillips Road just beyond Sooke Museum, small reasonably priced PhoebeWood gifts will be for sale at their gift shop from July 26th through to August the 5th, closing day!
