Daylight saving time is here and next week the third Ides of March is upon us, followed by the equinox. Say good-bye to winter!
Lots of sunshine, gardening, bicycle rides, spotting the first wild flowers. Blessed are the quiet times too down in the carving shed, where I am enjoying adding to my inventory for sales next summer and fall.
Taking breaks from the production of bowls, I love to sculpture found wood. On the bench are several “unfinished” pieces to challenge me: GMO red cedar salmon twins, an owl to appear out of a Garry oak stump, a cormorant on guard made of red plum. Soon there will be more yew sushi plates and arbutus carving boards to add to the mix!
