Dusting off for the Colder Season (PhoebeWood)

It is early October – and I am taking stock now of the wood inventory for fall and winter carving. While sorting the wonderful woods in the storage shed I am continually surprised how much I have and what is there that I had forgotten about. Making wooden book boxes for the upcoming book launch has kept me busy!

Maple, laurel, Garry oak, yew,  so many red cedar burls, yellow cedar, plum, arbutus, walnut , mounting hemlock. We started to cut up  some large pieces to more manageable sizes but first we had to blow out the summer dust… It’s rather breathtaking to say the least!
