A Fusion of Wood and Metal

In 2018, I started to work with Foggy Mountain Forge to create designs that combine forge art with wood art. I love to see what is possible given how creative Marty and his son Justin are with the pieces of finished wood I bring out to them occasionally. They sell finished pieces in their gift shop, as well as at STOKED Wood Fired Pizzeria.

You will have seen some of the pieces we have made together on my blog in the past – most recently, the adorable red plum tree trunk with river grass and burnished mushrooms… or maybe you remember the beach-combed red candlestick holders with found Japanese glass fishing floats, and Foggy Mountain Forge’s hand-bashed copper candle holders!

But The one piece I like the best so far is Windswept, which is now showing at the 2019 Sooke Fine Arts Show.

This creative process of collaboration has just begun… who knows where it  may lead this coming year and beyond! We are all looking forward to going to some far away creative places!!
